Dog crate

A crate is defined as a private room of your pet. The history of the crate began from dens. These dens are shallow holes dug by the dog to safe guard themselves from other predators. Dens are very small, dark and has space just enough to turn around and lie down. Crate is also made similar to dens. They are very small and have just enough space to accommodate your pet. Dog crate gives the feeling of being safer and secure. Training your dog is easier if you own a crate.

A dog crate is not so expensive. The size of the crate depends on the nature and size of your dog. The size of the crate should be just enough to accommodate your dog and allow him to stretch and turn easily. Usually crates are made of plastic or heavy welded steel wire. These two piece plastic dog crate has ample ventilation on the side and a steel door on the front. Most of the dog crates are very light and portable. It is the natural tendency of the dog to maintain their crate clean. This will naturally develop a character to control its behavior. Having a dog crate controls its chewing habits, use of bathroom, feeding and exercise.

It is easy to train your pet use dog crate. Award him every time he goes in to the crate. This makes him feel that whenever he is on the crate he will be awarded. You can also give him some toys to enjoy his room. Use a soft blanket, hard enough not to be torn by the dog to make his crate more comfortable. If you have puppies then use soft toys easily chewable for your puppy. This makes him happier every time he visits the crate.

You can use the command 'kennel' to train the dog use the crate. You can offer a treat pull the dog to crate for the treat. This makes him understand kennel and crate means a good treat for him. A dog crate is considered as the best way to teach him discipline of housetraining. He will learn to urinate or defecate outside the house/crate. Don't ever force your dog to be in the crate for long hours except after a good exercise or walk. This may make the dog more violent for not using the crate any more.
