This makes him happier every time he visits the crate. You can use the command 'kennel' to train the dog use the crate. You can offer a treat pull the dog to crate for the treat. This makes him understand kennel and crate means a good treat for him. A dog crate is considered as the best way to teach him discipline of housetraining. He will learn to urinate or defecate outside the house/crate. Don't ever force your dog to be in the crate for long hours except after a good exercise or walk.
