Dogs, man's favorite companion comes in various sizes. The size of the dog matters your time dedication for your pet. Normally big dogs require more care than small ones. A dog's size is determined partly by its genes, but the size is greatly influenced by the environmental factors as well. Food it has at its young age or puppy matters a lot in this case. It is generally determined that the diet plays a major role in the dog's weight. The height and length of the dog is directly proportionate to the genotype of its parents.

Size and shape of the feet is used to judge the size of the dog. If your puppy has a big feet and long splayed out toes then the dog will grow up to a big dog. Girth of the tail at the point where it attaches to the posterior is also another indicator to estimate the size of the dog. If the girth is very thick and muscular tail base then the dog is sure to a big dog.
